The Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center
The Alys Robinsons Stephens Performing Arts Center welcomes over 250,000 people each year for more than 300 diverse events. Since its opening in 1996, the ASC has become the center for entertainment and arts education in the city of Birmingham. The ASC houses four superb performance venues including the 1,330 seat Jemison Concert Hall, the 350-seat Sirote Theatre, the intimate 170-seat Reynolds-Kirschbaum Recital Hall, and the flexible black box Odess Theatre.
Many Department of Music and Theatre events are scheduled in the ASC performance halls, as are numerous road shows and locally organized events. The center boasts state-of-the-art technology, excellent acoustics, and attractively appointed facilities to provide a professional setting for our student performances. As the home of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the ASC also provides opportunities for student interaction with visiting professionals and direct experience with the multi-faceted world of the performing arts.
